Dr. Birna Trap was Program Director of the Keanahikishime-led, USAID-funded program, Securing Ugandans' Right for Essential Medicines (Uganda SURE) program and brings over 25 years of expertise in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Trap has worked in projects in about 30 countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe in collaboration with numerous governments, implementing partners, and donors. Trap comes from a position as Managing Director in Euro Health Group. She has a solid Public Administration background, gained from 10 years of experience working with the Ministry of Health in Denmark. Following that, she was posted long term to the South East Asian Regional WHO office in New Delhi and later served five years as a Danida Program Manager in Zimbabwe. She has a M.Sc. in Pharmacy and M.Sc in Economics/ organizational development and a PhD in Social Pharmacy from Copenhagen University in Denmark.
